Beyond the Page takes a closer look at paper as more than just a medium for words and images. Bringing together paper-based works and publishing experiments from artists including Sanyu, Henri Matisse, Salvador Dalí, Andy Warhol and Zao Wou-Ki, the exhibition explores how paper has moved beyond its traditional role as a carrier of information into a space for artistic expression, design and material exploration. Alongside artworks spanning different periods, a special reading section featuring publications by Chinese designers invites visitors to flip through and experience the textures, craftsmanship and ideas behind contemporary paper-based creations.
