About the Event

Organized by the dog-friendly tour group Rascals on the Road, this food walking tour offers a different way to explore Shanghai with your dog. Designed for dog owners and their pets, the experience combines local food tastings with a relaxed walk through the historic streets of the former French Concession.

Over the course of about two hours, participants stroll through the neighborhood with coffee in hand while sampling several of Shanghai’s popular breakfast snacks. Along the route, the guide introduces locations connected to the city’s dog history, including lesser-known places that played a role in shaping Shanghai’s dog culture in the past.

As the group continues through the area, the walk also highlights the architecture and atmosphere of the former French Concession. Stories and facts about dogs in early Shanghai are shared along the way.

The final food stop features one of Shanghai’s well-known noodle dishes. Nearby, the tour ends with a dog-focused stop where participants can enjoy one last bite while their dogs have time to socialize and play.
