Mercedes-Benz Arena is marking its 15th anniversary with a large-scale exhibition looking back at the venue’s history through concerts, fan culture, backstage stories, and memorabilia. Running from May 1 to July 31 across the arena’s retail area, the exhibition includes a 40-meter corridor of more than 500 concert posters, a VR backstage experience that simulates walking from dressing room to stage, a fan archive space filled with letters, recordings, tickets and photos collected over the years, plus a display of unreleased items from the arena archives including signed posters, trophies, architectural drafts and artist memorabilia. Since opening in 2010 with Faye Wong’s first performance at the venue, Mercedes-Benz Arena has hosted thousands of concerts, sporting events and large-scale shows, becoming one of Shanghai’s biggest live entertainment venues. Entry to the exhibition is free, though the VR experience requires advance reservation through the venue’s mini program.
