Shanghai Museum presents a major exhibition featuring nearly 3,000 artifacts from Mexico, Peru, and China, offering a rare look into the ancient civilizations of the Americas, including the Olmec, Maya, Teotihuacan, Aztec, and Inca. Spanning nearly 3,000 years of history from 1200 BC to the 16th century, the exhibition brings together significant pieces, including many that are leaving their home countries for the first time. Beyond traditional displays, the show combines artifacts with immersive installations, reconstructed scenes, multimedia experiences, and sensory elements to explore the beliefs, art, and everyday life of these civilizations. Across three floors of Shanghai Museum’s People’s Square location, visitors can discover another side of world history through ancient objects, stories, and connections between different cultures.
