Every Monday night - for years now - Cages hosts a pick-up dodgeball game that's friendly for beginners (there's also a Thursday night session that's more competitive). Dodgeball is 80rmb to play, including one drink, and then Amstel beer is 15rmb all night with a dodgeball wristband. Great way to get active and meet some new people.
