This classic ballet inspired by Tchaikovsky’s music and the well-known tale of Odette and Odile is presented by Russian Moscow Ballet. The production follows the story of a prince, a cursed swan princess, and a love tested by deception and fate.

Swan Lake is a classical ballet inspired by a German fairy tale and set to music by Tchaikovsky. The story follows Prince Siegfried, who falls in love with Odette, a princess cursed to live as a swan by day and human by night. The narrative explores love, deception, and sacrifice through a dramatic four-act structure.

The production also highlights the contrast between Odette, the pure White Swan, and Odile, the deceptive Black Swan, who appears during the royal celebration and confuses the prince.

The staging includes distinct visual settings such as a royal palace, a fantasy-like forest, and a moonlit lake scene.

The Russian Moscow Ballet was founded in 2011 and is described as a rising name in Russian classical ballet. The company performs widely across Russia and internationally, presenting classical works such as Swan Lake, Giselle, and The Nutcracker. Its dancers are trained in leading Russian ballet institutions and the company collaborates with major theatres such as the Moscow Bolshoi Theatre and the Mariinsky Theatre.

The performance also features a variety of classical ensemble pieces, including the “Little Swans Dance” and national-style dances performed during the royal scene.

It is a production that appeals both to audiences discovering ballet for the first time and to those familiar with classical repertoire, offering a clear narrative structure, strong visual staging, and well-known ballet highlights.
