Singapore indie pop band Sobs bring their melodic, emotionally charged sound to a live setting that blends dream pop sweetness with punchy power pop energy. Known for their evolution from lo-fi bedroom pop to high-energy guitar-driven songs, the band has built a strong following across Asia, Japan, and North America. This is a chance to catch one of Southeast Asia’s most visible indie exports on stage.

Formed in Singapore in 2017, Sobs have grown from intimate, lo-fi bedroom recordings into a band with an increasingly bold and confident live presence. Their early releases, including Catflap and Telltale Signs, introduced listeners to soft vocals, hazy guitars, and understated emotional themes that resonated widely within the indie pop and dream pop community.
With the release of Air Guitar, the band expanded their sound toward brighter, more energetic power pop and indie rock. The newer material emphasizes sharper hooks, higher tempos, and a stronger sense of movement, while still retaining the melodic sensitivity that defines their songwriting.
Sobs have toured extensively across Asia and North America, including a 2023 North American tour supporting Air Guitar. They have also built a particularly strong following in Japan, where they have toured multiple times and played sold-out shows.

Members of Sobs are also connected to Singapore’s wider indie scene. Jared Lim has been involved in other prominent local projects, including Subsonic Eye and Cosmic Child, both known for their contributions to the region’s dream pop and indie rock sound.
The band has received international media attention from outlets including NME, The FADER, Stereogum, MTV, Audiotree, and KEXP, helping introduce their music to a global audience.

This show is a good fit for listeners who enjoy dream pop, shoegaze, and melodic indie rock, as well as fans of Southeast Asian indie bands such as Subsonic Eye and Cosmic Child. Whether drawn to Sobs’ earlier, more introspective work or their newer, louder live sound, audiences can expect a set that balances emotional nuance with upbeat energy. It’s an opportunity to see a band that reflects both the evolution of Singapore’s indie scene and its growing presence on international stages.
