Founded in 1498, the Vienna Boys Choir has a musical history spanning more than five centuries. This concert opens with Austrian classics by Mozart, Schubert, and the Strauss family before moving through Austrian folk songs, opera excerpts, musical theatre favorites, film music, Chinese folk songs, and popular works from around the world.

This performance also commemorates the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Austria and the 100th anniversary of the Vienna Boys Choir's international touring tradition.

About the Artists

Vienna Boys Choir

Founded in 1498 as the Imperial Court Chapel Choir of Austria, the Vienna Boys Choir is one of the world's most renowned choral ensembles. Its educational and choral traditions were inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2017.

The choir performs more than 300 concerts annually for nearly 500,000 audience members worldwide. Throughout its history, it has collaborated with leading conductors and ensembles and has maintained a musical tradition spanning more than five centuries.

Conductor: Manuel Huber

Born in Brixen, South Tyrol, Italy, Manuel Huber began studying piano at the age of six. He studied choral conducting, music education, and orchestral conducting at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, alongside psychology studies at the University of Salzburg.

Since 2019, he has served as conductor of the Mozart Choir of the Vienna Boys Choir, leading rehearsals, recordings, and international tours. He has prepared the choir for performances with distinguished conductors including Riccardo Muti, Ivor Bolton, and Franz Welser-Möst, and has led performances across Europe, Asia, and North America.
