After nearly two decades of constantly reinventing their sound, The Horrors are finally bringing their first China tour to audiences this summer. From gothic rock and post-punk to shoegaze, psychedelia, and electronic music, the British five-piece continues to push its music into new territory while remaining unmistakably The Horrors.
Since forming in 2005, The Horrors has established itself as one of the UK's most influential alternative rock bands. Just ten months after their debut, they appeared on the cover of NME, replacing then-rising stars Arctic Monkeys. Their first five albums, Strange House, Primary Colours, Skying, Luminous, and V, all reached the UK's Top 40 albums chart.

Their critically acclaimed second album, Primary Colours, was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize and was named NME's No.1 Album of 2009, helping cement the band's reputation both in the UK and internationally.
Over the years, The Horrors has shared stages and toured alongside artists including Muse, Florence and the Machine, New Order, and Depeche Mode, building a reputation for continually evolving its sound while remaining true to its artistic identity.
In October 2024, The Horrors returned with their first single in three years, The Silence That Remains, signalling the beginning of a new era for the band. Combining the dark atmosphere of their earlier work with a renewed sense of purpose, the track offered listeners a glimpse of what was to come.

Released the following March, their sixth studio album, Night Life, sees the band further refining its dark and atmospheric sound. The album incorporates gothic rock, garage rock, punk, shoegaze, psychedelia, and electronic music while embracing a more restrained yet vibrant sonic palette.
Frontman Faris Badwan described the album as both a musical and personal transformation. While writing the record with bassist Rhys Webb, the band was simultaneously rebuilding its lineup and rethinking how The Horrors would evolve moving forward.
The Horrors' current five-member lineup features:

Jordan Cook is also known as the drummer of the band Telegram.
After nearly twenty years with minimal lineup changes, this new incarnation of The Horrors marks the beginning of another creative chapter for the group.
Few bands have embraced transformation quite like The Horrors. Across six studio albums, they have explored gothic rock, post-punk, garage rock, shoegaze, psychedelia, and electronic music without remaining tied to any single genre.
Their music balances dark atmospheres with expansive melodies and textured arrangements. Rather than revisiting past successes, each album represents a deliberate shift in direction while preserving the band's unmistakable sonic identity.
Night Life continues this tradition, pairing industrial textures and electronic elements with the immersive soundscapes that have long defined The Horrors' work.
This tour marks The Horrors' first-ever China tour, making it a rare opportunity to experience one of Britain's defining post-millennium rock bands live. Whether you've followed them since Strange House and Primary Colours or discovered their more recent work, The Horrors' live performances remain driven by experimentation and reinvention. Their return to the stage also brings a newly revitalized lineup eager to share the next chapter of the band's story with audiences in China.
