About the Show

The performance draws inspiration from the ancient sounds recorded in the Tsinghua Bamboo Slips’ Yue Feng, weaving over ten original compositions into five thematic chapters: Ask Heaven, Ask the Way, Ask the Throne, Ask the Heart, and Return to One. From ritualistic music in Yue Feng and Shen Ren Chang to instrumental and vocal explorations in later chapters, the show explores the human quest for meaning, leadership, and connection across time. It concludes with Da Feng Ge, unifying the musical journey.
