The Vienna Strauss Orchestra returns with its 2027 New Year’s Concert, bringing the elegance of the Viennese musical tradition to audiences around the world. Rainer Roos serves as Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the Vienna Strauss Orchestra. He has dedicated more than two decades to the preservation and presentation of Vienna’s musical heritage.

As a specialist in the music of the Strauss family and the Viennese waltz tradition, he has led the orchestra on numerous international tours, including 25 tours throughout China. His work combines classical musical expertise with a strong stage presence, earning recognition in Austria, Germany, China, and other countries.

The orchestra traces its heritage to 1827, when Johann Strauss I established an orchestra in Vienna that would become closely associated with the city's musical identity.

The ensemble continues to uphold this legacy today, carrying Viennese musical traditions to audiences around the world through regular international touring.

The orchestra is supported by the recommendation of Prof. Dr. Eduard Strauss, a fourth-generation descendant of the Strauss family, reinforcing its connection to the Strauss musical lineage.
