Job Description

We are looking for a Design Director who is able to quickly interpret business needs and client briefs and turn them into compelling creative solutions. Often working under tight deadlines while overseeing multiple projects, the Design Director must be a skilled manager of design team. The Design Director must be an effective communicator, especially when it comes to relaying creative concepts to design teams and customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide the teams to create great user experiences:
• 50% of the time is spent personally involved in design, creating and maintaining design methodologies and design standards
• 50% of the time is spent on supervision, project coordination, quality assurance and communication (external and internal)
• Focus on UI design (especially visualising the brand DNA) while maintaining both UI and UX components
• Pushing the boundaries of UI design through constant experimentation, including 3D animation and effects
• Integrate prototyping into the UI design process
• Introduce design methodologies and innovations, particularly in the early stages of a project
• Develop strong client relationships and act as a consultant and mentor
• Lead client-facing workshops and presentations and participate personally in client presentations
• Be a spokesperson for innovation and quality, and a mentor to team members

Requirements

• A charismatic leader who combines a user-centered mindset with wicked creativity
• Extensive experience working in a digital agency, 7+ years at a minimum
• Knowledge of current design advances and standards
• Experience with the latest tools and methodologies, especially Sketch, Figma, Adobe CC
• Excellent written and oral skills to communicate clearly and negotiate effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
• An advanced degree or significant post-undergraduate training in a related field, such as human-computer interaction, user research, graphic design, or industrial design is preferred
• Experience in the automotive or mobility industry is a plus
• Chinese & English is required
