Job Description

We are seeking a part-time Game Audio Instructor for the Sound Design for Visual Media program. This position requires strong technical expertise, industry experience, and teaching ability. The instructor will deliver courses covering areas such as game audio, sound design fundamentals, samplers and synthesizers, audio middleware (e.g., Wwise), Unity audio integration, and Max/MSP.

This role requires excellent classroom leadership, a student-focused mindset, and a passion for cultivating the next generation of game audio professionals.

Core Responsibilities

  • Coordinate curriculum planning and scheduling with the Head of Department.
  • Collaborate with academic administration and faculty to manage student records, including grades, attendance, and course assessments.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with students and faculty on course updates, events, and schedule changes.
  • Oversee the Game Audio Lab and ensure proper use and maintenance of all tools, software, and equipment.
  • Work with the Marketing & Admissions team to support promotional activities and ensure accuracy in public-facing materials.
  • Assist in developing teaching materials, presentations, and hands-on project content in collaboration with the Head of Department.
  • Carry out other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of professional experience in game audio or sound design
  • Deep understanding of game development pipelines and global audio production workflows
  • Proficiency in Wwise and Unity is required; Wwise Certified Instructors are strongly preferred
  • Broad technical knowledge including sound recording, editing, Pro Tools, middleware integration, samplers, and synthesizers
  • Strong writing and communication skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Self-motivated with sound professional judgment and the ability to work independently
  • A team player with a flexible attitude and the ability to perform well under pressure
  • Professional demeanor, discretion, and strong ethical standards
