Still going strong as of 2026, with an even greater focus on music games these days. For gamers (read: it's safe but not really a family-friendly place), this is the top arcade in Shanghai and maybe even the country. This place feels mystic, like a dream sequence in an anime. When you step off the fourth floor elevator, you'll hear birds chirping and machines beeping, and see portraits of bosses like Jack Ma and Steve Jobs among bonsai trees, aquariums, and LED-lit fog. Lie Huo is known internationally for their collection of niche shoot ‘em ups like Donpachi, Gunbird, and Strikers 1945. In addition to these and the big selection of drum games, beat-tap games, and even a proper DDR machine, they've also got a lot of fighting games and driving games, including Street Fighter, KoF, Tekken, Initial D, and more. Other games include Metal Slug 3, Virtua Tennis, Tetris, Bubble Bobble, Three Kingdoms, some old shooters like L.A. Machineguns and House of the Dead, and many more. There's also some claw grab machines. No pinball. An absolute must visit if you're into arcades.
