Excellent little neighborhood bar and café just a couple blocks away from Xintiandi. It's old-school, in that you're here for a drink and a chat with the bartender Jeff and whoever else is in the place. Super friendly atmosphere. The liquor selection is broader than 99% of places in Shanghai: they often stock stuff you can't get anywhere else in the city, and it's not unusual to catch bartenders in their off-hours perched on the stools trying something new. It's best-known for its range of gins. You'll also find some rare whiskeys, tequilas, even akvavit and a lambanog. Coffee is strong and excellent.
