This confident storefront is the fourth edition of Shanghai's unofficial French Consulate, from a crew of ex-hospitality interns who decided they wanted to open their own bar. The focus continues to be a chilled, nice-looking place to get quietly hammered on imported Belgian beer, but they've upped their food game here with a selection of homely, rustic comfort dishes. Front wall opens up almost entirely during the summer months, and they keep some outdoor seating with heat lamps during the winter. It remains, of course, exceedingly popular, especially among the French crowd. Their opening party in 2017 very nearly made the whole place burst at the seams.
