ShanghaiPRIDE is an annual LGBTQ celebration of diversity. Established in 2009, ShanghaiPRIDE was the first PRIDE event to take place in mainland China, and is organized entirely by volunteers with the support of individuals, media, businesses, and foreign consulates. They aim to raise awareness and promote acceptance of the LGBTQ community through sports, cultural, educational, and social activities. They also encourage the community to support LGBTQ-related projects and initiatives. ShanghaiPRIDE 2019 will be held from the June 13 to June 16.
