The House of Blues and Jazz moved to the Bund from its original Maoming Lu location (opened in 1995) around 2008. It's an upgrade, for sure. Big two-story space with live music nightly. Music is generally good, and includes a lot of soul and funk standards (Motown, etc). Could differ depending on the night though because they don't have a resident band. Drinks are Bund prices, so expect to pay around 80rmb and up for beers and into the low 100s for some cocktails. There is never a cover though, so you're paying for the band, too. Crowd is a mix of tourists, locals, and old hands, and slightly older. Definitely a fine place to stop in after a night strolling on the Bund.
