Tsutaya is the biggest chain bookstore in Japan, and is the first shop they opened in China, back in 2020. It's a big, comfortable, nicely-designed place spread across two floors and a large patio area with tables - great for sitting and working in the sun. Books are mostly in Chinese, and there's an emphasis on art, design, philosophy, manga, and literature. You can find some imported art and fashion magazines (e.g., Juxtapoz, Popeye) on the first floor, and there's a whole section devoted to gifts, watches, small art pieces, and more. Plus, there's a good collection of art books on the second floor. Overall, this is a must visit for bookstore fans and a great place to hang out when you're in the Columbia Circle neighborhood.
