Originally built in 1939 and called the White Horse Inn, the building had served as a refuge for Jewish immigrants escaping Nazi-occupied Europe. It was demolished years ago. Now it has been rebuilt and turned into a café. It sits across the Shanghai Jewish Refugee Museum.
