An Italian-via-Hong Kong import, Pici has a solid rep in HK for their creamy, handmade-daily pasta dishes served at affordable prices. This is not earth-shattering stuff but it works just fine: decent food, good service, good value. Their Kerry Center location (it’s on the second basement level) is the first in Shanghai and deals in a line of rich and approachable pasta dishes, along with the requisite staples of classic Italian cuisine: a healthy range of appetizers, meaty main courses, and wine pairings throughout. They’ve also got some good vegetarian options as well, like this one: Pici “Cacio E Pepe” (Percorino Cheese, black pepper) 88rmb. Recommended.
