City Mart is a food chain with traditional Shanghai eateries and cultural scenes in a vintage setup. Hidden in modern shopping malls, they boast different themes dotted around town, ranging from temples to lane houses. This North Bund one is the most popular one among locals so far. Founded by three Shanghainese guys, the place is: 70% cafeteria; 20% cultural hub; 10% fusion stuff. They’ve got big chains like Dahuchun (for shengjian), Xiandelai (for ribs rice cakes and desserts), Wumaoxing (for noodles), to name a few. There are also delicacies from independent retailers and other cultures like ramen and dim sum. Prices are low, starting from 1rmb snacks and stews to a 100rmb filling, fancy meal.
