Chun is a humble dining room with only four tables. The decor is drab and dull. But don't let this dissuade you. This is one of the best places in the city for home-style Shanghai cuisine. There is no menu. Rather, the chef prefers to prepare market-fresh foods. Their specialties include red-braised pomfret, duck leg with with sweet soy and pork stuffed snails. The proprietors don't speak a word of English, so come equipped with a knowledge of Mandarin. Reservations are essential and, most importantly, don't be late. They don't suffer tardiness.
