This is the bistro version of Da Vittorio (a luxe high-end Italian restaurant on the Bund that's often hard to get a table at) run by the same team and management with chefs that were trained at Da Vittorio. Located inside the UCCA Edge museum a few blocks away from the Bund, the layout is modern but cold and lacks the Bund views of it's bigger brother. Price-wise, it's not significantly cheaper than Da Vittorio itself which makes it questionable why one wouldn't just go eat the original. Food is still Italian, but while Da Vittorio has to follow the flavors and recipes of it's original parent restaurant in Italy, chefs at New Wave are giving more room to play with new ideas, which results in a some less traditional dishes. At the time of this writing a lunch set menu was in the works in the 500+ rmb area.
