With venues all over town -- one in north Jing'an, one in Xuhui, and one in Gubei -- Cafe Montmartre is one of the older and more successful mid-level French staples around town. They serve traditional French cuisine and café fair, and are good for everything from a simple coffee to a dinner meal. They also serve an array of Brittany-style crepes, and a good selection of salads and pastas. Prices won't break the bank if you keep it simple, and all three don't overdo it with the French opulence in terms of décor.
