The basement of C Park is basically a mall/park for subculture. It's full of nightclubs, livehouses, bars, street food restaurants and bars serving cheap drinks, and tons of kids, mostly young, local, cool, and friendly. As of May 2026, this place has become kind of an "underground INS", with venues like Wigwam, Yuyintang, Specters, Illum, Sympathy Angel, Reactor, and Uptown Records all finding a home here. It's very busy on weekend nights, and sometimes there's fairs and other cultural events. If you're looking to go out somewhere that's not playing Top 40 and experience a wide range of Shanghai's subcultures, this is a great destination. There's a daytime mode too. C-Park is a mixed use development, and upstairs there's retail, office space, and sporting venues like climbing gyms. It's also a really popular place for people to bring their dogs - you can usually find at least a dozen dogs and their humans socializing here in the evening. There's some nice parks just next door, as well as the Liu Haisu art museum (hence the "Haisu" in the name). The development was designed by the firm Gensler and was completed in 2023.
