Wuli is Chef Tom Ryu’s more casual Korean spot in the WYSH complex on Wuyi Lu -- a noticeable pivot for a guy whose CV runs Genesis Restaurant (from the glitzy K-car brand) and Jeju Sagye. It’s his first stab at something more casual, set in a contemporary riff on traditional hanok architecture, complete with warm woods, clean lines, and a bit of (dog-friendly) outdoor seating. The menu is Koreatown comfort with a chef-y hand: thick-cut pork belly kimchi pancakes; fried dumplings under a small garden of herbs; nduja-tteokbokki; and charcoal-grilled pork belly or beef blade. Prices land mostly under 100rmb for shared plates and stews like gamjatang (85rmb) and yukgaejang (72rmb).
