Zup is a laid back neighborhood pizza bar in Jing'an specializing in Chicago-style thin-crust, grid-cut tavern pizza. Everything is made in house, including their 72-hour cold fermentation dough, shared plates, sandwiches, smash burgers, sausage, and giardiniera. Pizza is available by the slice or the whole pie, and they've got a bunch of small bites like Mexican style street corn, meatballs, and fried chicken. For beverages, they serve an array of beers and simple drinks like spritzes. The vibe has shades of 2000s/2010s Brooklyn and the music leans toward indie rock and classics like Talking Heads, with some good house music in there as well. On select Sundays, they throw a daytime party called House of ZUP that sees DJs coming through to play sets. With seating around the bar and facing the street, it's a chill place to pull up for lunch, dinner with friends, or the start of a date night or night on the town.
