Bottega Group’s latest: Capri in Xintiandi. Same team, different latitude. Coastal Italian meant for sharing -- lighter, brinier, seafood and citrus-leaning plates; antipasti boards with mortadella, salumi, burrata; fried snacks like arancini al ragù and mozzarella in carrozza; and, yes, pizza. Pizza here leans Capri-style: Neapolitan at heart, but lighter and less overloaded. The crust runs airy with a crisp bottom, with fior di latte mozzarella that melts creamy and mild, softer and sweeter than buffalo mozzarella. Some familiar Bottega dishes appear, but most of the menu is new: octopus carpaccio, bianchetti anchovy pizza, Capricciosa with Praga ham, zucchini flowers, a solid Quattro Stagioni, and a pasta lineup that points more seaside than countryside. Pricing sits in the usual Bottega zone, with pizzas ranging 79–149rmb.
