The "Grand Plaza Club House" is the pool facility in the Julu Lu compound most well-known for being the location of Mexican restaurant Maya. Super centrally located, the pool is open year-round to non-residents as well. It's not huge, but it's good enough for a relaxing dip. During peak months, it's busy on weekends, due to the location, but fairly low-key during the weekdays. The housing blocks surrounding it tend to block out the afternoon sun, so it's better in the mornings or midday. The Kwik-E-Mart downstairs also dispenses chilled domestic and imported beer and snacks of dubious nutritional value. Open 9 am-9 pm daily; 150rmb Monday to Friday, 200rmb on weekends. 80rmb for children under 1.2 meters. They say you need a swim cap here, but the rule is clearly not enforced.
