Although Y.Y.'s has been around for more than 20 years, it remains as one of Shanghai's lesser known venues. It's also one of the best. It's quiet, friendly, open very late and always draws a cool crowd. They recently moved from their upstairs space to the basement level, but it's still the same place. Nice, old school decoration, decent drinks for around 50rmb, and good music. Social, rather than banging, it's also very smokey, but that's just YY's.
