Parent Workshop on Appropriate Use of Social Media and Technology at Dulwich Puxi

Addictive behavior, keeping children safe, managing device use
By Oct 9, 2020 Education
According to many experts and child psychologists, technology, social media, and the internet are among the top causes of depression and mental health disorders in young people around the world. On October 15, Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi will host a three-part workshop that looks at how Shanghai families can better support their children's tech use.

The evening will begin with the school's counselor giving insight on tech-induced addictive behaviors, followed by a discussion with guest speaker Mr. Jonathan Taylor, a specialist in covert online internet investigations who previously worked for the UK Metropolitan Police for 10 years, on understanding digital tattoos and how parents can keep their children safe online. Members of the teaching faculty will then discuss their top practical tips for managing your children's devices.

Workshop is open to all Shanghai parents with children in Years 5 to 11 (Grades 4 to 10), and will run from 6pm-7.45pm. Register for the workshop here.
