The Rolex Shanghai Masters is coming back this autumn, and it's not just the players getting ready. The tournament's medical team is also gearing up to keep players in top shape throughout the competition.

For the 2026–2028 tournaments, IHH Healthcare North Asia will continue as the Official Medical Service Provider of the Rolex Shanghai Masters, following its partnership with the tournament since 2023. This year, the medical support is getting a regional upgrade, with Parkway Shanghai and Gleneagles Hong Kong joining forces for the first time.

The idea is pretty simple: bring together medical expertise from Shanghai and Hong Kong to provide players with faster, more comprehensive support throughout the tournament.

A Shanghai-Hong Kong Medical Team

Parkway Shanghai has been supporting the Rolex Shanghai Masters since 2023, helping provide on-site medical care and coordinating specialists across areas including sports medicine, orthopaedics, cardiology and diagnostic imaging.

For this year's tournament, Parkway Shanghai will continue to lead the local medical response, drawing on its network of hospitals, clinics and medical centres across the city.

Joining the team is Gleneagles Hong Kong, which will bring additional experience in emergency medicine, sports medicine and managing more complex medical cases. Gleneagles Hong Kong has established itself as a comprehensive integrated healthcare network including a multispecialty hospital, primary care clinics, specialist centres, an ambulatory care centre, as well as laboratory and pharmacy services in Hong Kong. The hospital is a tertiary private hospital and teaching hospital affiliated with The University of Hong Kong Health System, with multidisciplinary teams covering a wide range of specialist services.

Together, the two teams will create a cross-border medical support network designed to handle everything from routine player care to more complicated situations that may require specialist attention.

More Than Just First Aid

For a tournament of this scale, medical support goes well beyond having a doctor courtside.

The Rolex Shanghai Masters is one of the nine ATP Masters 1000 tournaments worldwide and one of the biggest men's professional tennis events in Asia. With players travelling from around the world and competing at a high level over more than a week, having a medical team that understands sports injuries, emergency care and international patients is an important part of keeping the tournament running smoothly.

It also means having the right specialists and resources available when something unexpected happens.
