Soy Sauce Factory Tour
Slow Food Shanghai is organizing a guided tour of a local hand-crafted soy sauce factory with a history of over 130 years. Much of today's soy sauce is artificially hydrolyzed, commercially produced and fermented under machine-controlled environments within only 20 days. This factory, however, makes soy sauce that is brewed from natural cultures for more than six months with no chemicals added.
Price is 300rmb per person and includes transportation, a factory visit with an English-speaking tour guide and a soy sauce tasting and lunch. The tour lasts from 9.30am to 2.30pm.
