Description

Escape the city for a weekend of yoga, mindfulness, and nature in the serene mountains of Anji. This retreat is all about slowing down, reconnecting with yourself, and finding some inner peace—think yoga, meditation, breathwork, and hiking through lush landscapes. For those seeking a reset, this might be the perfect way to welcome Autumn.

  • Location: Anji Mountain
  • Duration: 3 days 2 nights
  • Trip Type: Nature retreat, yoga and meditation
  • Suitable for: Singles, couples, groups
  • Organizer: Yoga for Life

What to Expect

  • Yoga & Breathwork: Grounding yoga practices designed to open the body and clear the mind. Guests will learn to connect deeply with their body and breath, release tension, and invite peace. Simple yet powerful breathwork techniques will help tap into inner peace and power on a daily basis.
  • Meditation & Mindfulness: Guided Zen meditation to cultivate awareness, stillness, and clarity. Participants will explore practices like Kundalini Awakening Meditation to expand their energy.
  • Life Transformation Tools: Practical techniques to approach each day with intention, mindfulness, and clarity. Attendees will learn to empower their daily lives with purpose.
  • Hiking & Nature Connection: Immerse in Anji's stunning landscapes, breathe in the spring air, and feel the healing energy of nature while hiking through lush mountains.
  • Chanting & Journaling: Release old patterns and connect with inner wisdom through chanting and journaling. This experience offers transformation through these healing practices.

Noble Silence

During designated meal times, participants will observe Noble Silence, which encourages mindful eating. Talking and phone use are not recommended during these times.

For those new to Noble Silence, the focus can be on the breath as it enters and exits the nostrils. Observing body sensations, such as those while eating or walking, can also help shift attention away from a busy mind.

Yoga Classes

Yoga classes will be tailored by the instructor to suit the group's overall level. All schedules are subject to change depending on local weather or other conditions.

Free Time

During free time, participants can choose to remain silent in their rooms, meditate, or explore the surrounding area at their leisure. All activities outside of yoga are optional.

Location

Anji, located in Huzhou, Zhejiang province, is approximately a 4-hour drive from Shanghai, situated in the northwest of Zhejiang. The town is covered by 75% bamboo forests, home to over 40 species of bamboo, making it the most diverse bamboo habitat in the world. Anji is also a pilot county for tourism, ecological efforts, and green building construction.

Accommodation

The retreat house is about an hour up the mountain, winding around one bend after another. At the very top is where guests will find it. Accommodations are cute, clean, and homey, with mountain views from the house. The host is humble and genuinely kind. Rooms have a view though not every room looks out at the mountains.

Dining

The retreat offers farm-to-table, homemade vegetarian meals prepared with care and love. There is no fixed menu; meals are based on what’s grown locally in the village and are seasonal, ensuring fresh and flavorful dishes.
