Shanghai's most notorious, legendary dive bar is turning 20 years old. Opened by sisters Jenny and Jessie in 2000 who took the slow boat from their hometown near Chongqing -- which was getting drowned for the building of the Three Gorges Dam -- they found a bomb shelter and turned it into a delightfully dirty underground cave with a maze of graffiti sprayed rooms and halls. Countless DJs, event promoters, and future club owners got their start here over the years. It's been a haven for the counter-culture, the creative arts, the lost students, and everyone else. Wong Kar Wai even used it as a setting in a film with Andy Lau and Angelababy.
