"Also sprach Zarathustra" is the first concert of the 2024 music season of the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, which will be performed at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center Concert Hall on March 1. This concert is planned by the art director Zhang Yi. The entire concert will open with the overture of Pfitzner's theatrical soundtrack "The Little Kekin of Helblingen", which is first-time performed in China. The second work will be performed by the outstanding world-class cello soloist Qin Liwei , collaborating with the orchestra to perform Bloch's Hebrew Rhapsody 'Solomon'. This year also marks the 160th anniversary of the birth of the German composer Richard Strauss. The orchestra will perform the classic symphonic work "Also sprach Zarathustra", which was created by Richard Strauss based on the masterpiece by Nietzsche.
