‘The Rice Cake Maker’s Apprentice’ offers children and families an experience of traditional Chinese winter celebration through making and eating seasonal rice cakes. Food does not only make up an essential part of Chinese way of living, but serves as effective early learning and education especially for small children who usually enhance their senses of the world around from what they eat. On the day of the event children and parents will follow the traditional process of making cakes from rice powder and take home the hand made products with fine finishing of personal tastes.
