About

The Michael Compton Trio is an ensemble performance band that pays tribute to the influential piano trios from the 1950s to the early 21st century. The three members from Shanghai began performing together in various venues last year. In 2024, they officially formed a trio to recreate the style of the great piano trios in the history of jazz. From March 20 to 21 (Wednesday/Thursday), the trio will perform a concert with the theme "Tribute to the Great Piano Trios of Jazz” for the first time, which includes the styles of piano trios in the bebop and post-bop eras, samba jazz in the early 1960s, and the influential piano trios today.
