Delightfully twisted sounds and musical detours this evening at experimental music hub trigger. Guests of honor are German Death in Rome - the enigmatic neofolk music project known for adapting mainstream pop songs into melancholic, combative anthems, ‘stripping familiar melodies of their gorgeous shells and showing naked emotions and a palpable sense of decay.’ Also on the bill - noise act MiMi at Capricious - the side project from Zurich-based artist Zhao Yue; VÍZ, an experimental personal project by Hungarian interdisciplinary artist Reka Csiszer that explores the topic of fragmented identities through processed acoustic threshold sounds, simulation synthesized, Sekai folk, horror elements, diurnal arias, and noise. Rounding out the fun is Shanghaigrrrl - a scientific researcher, musician, and animal sound curator; experimental musician Soviet Soda; and Ultra Shocking - the vocal-based side project of Junky aka torturing nurse. Things will get weird.
