Nomadic is a contemporary dance performance by the Shenzhen Contemporary Dance Company, choreographed by Hu Shenyuan. Through a blend of Mongolian rhythms and modern dance, the performance explores themes of freedom, loss, and the journey of life. Expect powerful body movements, emotional storytelling, and captivating music as the dancers take the audience on a transformative journey.

Nomadic is a deeply personal journey that explores the essence of movement, loss, and self-discovery. For some, being "Nomadic" means leaving behind everything they know, seeking freedom and facing the loneliness of the road, while dreaming of life's carnival and the destination of a lost path. Time, invisible but powerful, pushes us to grow and drift through life, forever following the track of time. Wandering—without possessions or a place to call home—requires the courage to keep moving forward, through the thorns and challenges of the road, pouring one's spirit into the journey. This performance begins with the body itself as the starting point, drawing from the rhythmic foundations of Mongolian dance and blending it with contemporary movement to create a unique dance language. The choreographer crafts shapes that express various emotions, using a multitude of footwork, while the deep and expansive melodies of Mongolian music reflect the emotional highs and lows of the human heart.

A young Chinese dance artist and choreographer, Hu Shenyuan is the founder of HUHU DANCE and the Artistic Director of the Shenzhen Contemporary Dance Company. He is also a commissioned choreographer for the Chinese Dancers Association's "Training Youth Program" and the Director of the Beijing Dancers Association.
Hu Shenyuan is dedicated to the exploration and development of modern dance, focusing on the presentation and transformation of body language in both technical training and theatrical creation. He excels at uncovering hidden narrative elements through body movements. His works, which reflect the small occurrences of everyday life, offer fresh perspectives and transform modern dance from "incomprehensible" into an accessible and soothing form of art. His unique style has earned him accolades, with Chinese audiences praising him as one of the most story-telling dancers in the body. Yang Liping has even referred to him as a "heaven-sent gift."

Founded and led by Hu Shenyuan, this private professional dance company aims to cultivate versatile dancers and choreographers with comprehensive skills. The company pushes the boundaries between dance genres, with a focus on integrating ballet fundamentals with ethnic, folk dance elements and modern movement techniques. It offers fresh perspectives on tradition and incorporates cultural heritage into contemporary dance, experimenting with innovative choreographic approaches.
