About

The ‘Never Ensembled’ crew - made up of some of the characters of the experimental and jazz scenes that reside in the fringes, including saxophonist Li Tieqiao, guitarist and sound artist Liang Yuyuan, and percussionist Zhu Fangqiong- has been taking their strange and beguiling world fusion and free improvisation to new heights. Hailed by some as ‘madmen, hermits, monks, and fairies’ - the team is fresh off their latest recording entitled A Trip to Alnilam, an atmospheric sonic abstraction, one that relishes deconstructing and immersing itself in its language. The trio will be on hand at Blue Note this evening.
