The magic of Harry Potter returns to Shanghai with Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in concert. The Harry Potter™ Film Concert Series returns with the third installment of the saga, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban™, in concert. From August 7 to 9, the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Shih-Hung Young, will perform John Williams’ enchanting score live as the full film plays in high definition on a 40-foot screen.


Audiences will relive Harry’s third year at Hogwarts™, encountering Buckbeak the Hippogriff™, learning to repel Dementors™, and uncovering the truth about Sirius Black™ and his connection to Harry’s family. Williams’ Oscar-nominated score adds emotional depth and magic to this pivotal chapter in the series.

Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra
The Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra (SPO) traces its roots back to the historic Shanghai Broadcasting Orchestra and Shanghai Film Orchestra. Over its 70-year evolution, it has become a leading professional symphony orchestra in China, known for its excellence in both classical and contemporary repertoires. The SPO has played a pivotal role in the development of symphonic music in China and has been actively involved in national film and broadcasting arts.

Dr. Shih-Hung Young
Dr. Shih-Hung Young is a Taiwanese conductor and violinist born in Kuala Lumpur and currently based in the United States. He holds degrees from The Juilliard School and a doctorate from Stony Brook University. Dr. Young is internationally acclaimed for conducting major film concerts, including The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The Gladiator, and The Godfather, as well as Disney classics such as The Lion King and Frozen. He has performed with orchestras across North America, Europe, Asia, and South America.
