Hailing from Oslo, Norway, the Oddgeir Berg Trio consists of pianist/composer Oddgeir Berg, double bassist Audun Ramo, and drummer Runar Netland. The trio has toured extensively across Europe, performing at legendary jazz clubs like Ronnie Scott’s and major festivals, with appearances in Japan, the U.S. (including the Rochester Jazz Festival in New York), and throughout Scandinavia. Known for their virtuosic interplay and free-spirited improvisations, they are equally active in the studio, crafting immersive soundscapes.

With three critically acclaimed albums under their belt, the trio has solidified their place in Europe’s jazz scene. Their latest release, While We Wait For A Brand New Day, features nine original compositions by Berg—each tracing an emotional journey from societal turmoil to resilience, offering hope through music.
Norwegian pianist Oddgeir Berg draws inspiration from his hometown of Rolla Island, infusing his trio’s newest album, A Place Called Home (2024, Ozella Music), with his signature warmth and brightness. The record balances tender reflections (like Song for My Mother, written during illness) with joyful tributes to his roots (Where Happiness Lives, Deep in the Mountains).
Critics note that the trio strikes a unique balance between ECM-style minimalism and Pat Metheny-esque lushness, creating a sonic journey through nature, memory, and kinship.
Actual setlist subject to change.
Oddgeir Berg – Piano

A graduate of the University of Oslo, Berg leads the trio as its primary composer/arranger. Active across indie, rock, pop, and jazz, he now resides on Oslo’s outskirts, running his downtown studio, Bunkeren. Merging acoustic and electronic elements—often processing his grand piano through effects pedals—he signed with Germany’s Ozella Music in 2018, focusing on his trio project.
Audun Ramo – Double Bass

Specializing in acoustic music, Ramo’s career spans award-winning blues bands, avant-garde jazz, and cross-cultural folk. His distinctive style incorporates effects pedals and innovative plucking techniques. After graduating from the University of Agder, he joined the trio in 2020.
Runar Netland – Drums

A versatile drummer with jazz, pop, and singer-songwriter experience, Netland is known for his melodic yet tense grooves, balancing precision with dynamic subtlety. He blends acoustic kits, electronics, drum machines, and effects to build layered textures. Based in Oslo and trained at NLA University College, he joined in 2025, adding a fresh dimension with his acute tonal sensitivity.
