Wang Jian returns to the stage at Shanghai Oriental Art Center to perform the complete Bach Cello Suites over two nights, following the release of his new album. The first night features Suites No. 2, 4, and 6, and the second night (already sold out) covers Suites No. 1, 3, and 5.

Cellist Wang Jian, one of China’s most celebrated classical musicians, returns to Shanghai Oriental Art Center for a rare full live performance of Bach’s six Cello Suites, marking the release of his new recording of the works—his first in 20 years. The suites, composed between 1717 and 1723, are iconic pieces in the cello repertoire, known for their emotional depth and technical complexity. Wang first performed these works as a child and now revisits them with decades of experience. Each of the two nights will feature three suites, offering a complete journey through Bach’s introspective and spiritual sound world.
