Fifth wave emo anyone? Originally started as a solo project by Chicago-based artist Tyler Odom back in 2020, Your Arms Are My Cocoon, it didn't take long for the musical project to break out in a big way - melding together delicate, lo-fi tones with powerful, emotional lyricism, bedroom pop DIY ethos, and intense screamo vocals with undertones of Midwest emo. Screamo pop if you will - they’re unlike anything else out there - a visceral live act (with a full band now) that pushes the genre into wondrous new territory. The American band will be joined by Qingdao’s Emo Cloud, who likewise lean into the messy and raw emotion of the genre, for their Shanghai stop.
