Spanish trumpeter and vocalist Antonio Ximenez Lopez teams up with Scoot Denison and Brian Hurley for a chilled-out night of Chet Baker classics—think breathy vocals, moody trumpet, and all the cool jazz feels. It’s a one-night-only tribute packed with smoky melodies, slow burn solos, and serious jazz cred.
From the aching vulnerability of My Funny Valentine to the drifting moodiness of Autumn Leaves, this trio brings Baker’s most defining moments to life, touching on everything from his early Pacific Jazz years to his later, moody European recordings. It’s jazz for those who know that sometimes, the quietest notes say the most.

A classically trained musician from Madrid turned jazz polymath, Antonio has studied under legends like Barry Harris, Joe Henderson, and Kenny Werner. He’s played with Latin icons like Celia Cruz and Paquito D'Rivera, contributed to albums for Shakira and La Oreja de Van Gogh, and served as conductor for the Clasijazz Big Band and Shanghai’s own JZ Big Band. Since moving to Shanghai in 2010, he’s been a mainstay of the city’s Latin jazz scene, regularly performing at JZ Club and beyond. He’s also got over 20 albums to his name and has performed at major jazz festivals from France to Denmark.

A UK-born guitarist, producer, and educator, Scoot holds a Master’s in Jazz Guitar from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. He’s been performing since the age of 11 and quickly rose through the ranks in the Welsh music scene before relocating to Shanghai in 2014. Here, he’s become one of the city’s most in-demand players, performing with Karen Mok, appearing on major TV shows like Time Concert, and collaborating with artists like Sean McCabe. He’s also half of Braccus Beats, a jazz x lo-fi duo with millions of plays online.

Originally from Canada, Brian Hurley has spent years lighting up stages in Montreal, New York, and now Shanghai. Called “one of Canada’s most creative bassists” by The Montreal Gazette and praised by jazz guitar great Sonny Greenwich as “one of the country’s most important bass voices,” Hurley brings both soul and sophistication to every performance.
