This is a boundary-breaking musical collision—American fingerstyle guitar prodigy Shun Ng teams up with Japanese piano poet Yuuki Shiojima and rising Chinese drummer Chen Xiaozhou to light up the stage at Lincoln Center.

Shun Ng, a four-time Boston Music Awards nominee, is known for his explosive live shows and a genre-blending style mixing funk, jazz, soul, and blues. Quincy Jones once said, “His music makes you stop breathing,” and Queen’s Brian May called his performance “a feast for the eyes and ears.”

Yuuki Shiojima went from classical piano prodigy to jazz-electronica innovator. Her playing combines machine-like precision with bursts of improvisational energy. With synths as her paintbrush, she adds depth and dreamlike textures to Shun’s melodies.

Chen Xiaozhou, a Berklee College of Music standout, is one of China’s rising jazz drummers. His beats are heartbeat-precise and storm-like in intensity, blending modern jazz with raw hip-hop energy to give the trio its pulse.

Together, these three Asian artists from different cultures create a vivid soundscape—where classical elegance, jazz freedom, and electronic futurism collide. It’s more than a concert; it’s a cross-cultural, soul-shaking experience.

Guitar/Vocal: Shun Ng

Shun is a four-time Boston Music Awards nominee and was named International Artist of the Year in 2015. His high-energy performances blend funk, jazz, soul, and blues. He’s toured 200+ cities across more than 10 countries and received praise from Quincy Jones, Brian May, and Tuck Andress. He also won the Holly Prize from the Songwriters Hall of Fame, presented by Grammy-winner Peter Asher. For this show, he brings bold, boundary-breaking creativity that fuses acoustic with electronic, jazz with funk.

Keyboard/Synth Bass: Yuuki Shiojima

A classically trained pianist from Japan, Yuuki blends jazz, R&B, pop, and electronic music. She started piano at 5 and studied music education at Shizuoka University before earning a scholarship to Berklee. Known for her unique use of synths and modern sound design, her performances seamlessly mix acoustic tradition with experimental electronics.

Drums: Chen Xiaozhou

A rising name in China’s jazz scene, Chen started drumming at 5 and composing in high school. He trained in classical and jazz percussion and studied modern jazz under Ian Froman. He graduated summa cum laude from Berklee with a focus on performance, arrangement, and production. He’s performed with Peace Hotel Jazz Band, as house drummer for Bilibili’s 10th anniversary, and in the musical Spring Awakening.
