Trumpet legend Jon Faddis brings his band to town for a night of hard-swinging jazz. Joined by guitarist Andrew Latona, bassist Michael Migliore, and drummer Christopher Latona, the group mixes tradition with fiery improvisation. Expect tight interplay, soaring trumpet lines, and a band locked in full swing.

Jon Faddis – Leader & Trumpet

Jon Faddis is a celebrated American jazz trumpeter, conductor, composer, and educator, known for his technical brilliance and as a torchbearer of Dizzy Gillespie’s style. Born in Oakland, he started trumpet at eight, inspired by Louis Armstrong, and soon gained the nickname “Dizzy II” for his uncanny emulation of Gillespie. Over his career he has performed with jazz legends, led ensembles like the Carnegie Hall Jazz Band, scored films, and released acclaimed albums such as Teranga, Things To Come, and Legacy, continuing to perform and compose today.

Andrew Latona – Guitar

Andrew Latona is recognized for his energetic performances and soulful sound, appearing at clubs and festivals including Birdland, Blue Note, Dizzy’s Club, and Jazz at Lincoln Center Shanghai. He has worked with Jon Faddis, Paul Carr, Jazzmeia Horn, and Julius Rodriguez, while also teaching at schools and festivals. Raised in Silver Spring, MD, he studied under Vic Juris at SUNY Purchase and now co-leads The Latona Brothers with his drummer brother Christopher.

Michael (Mikey) Migliore – Bass

Michael Migliore, a bassist from Westchester, NY now based in Harlem, trained at SUNY Purchase and Manhattan School of Music under masters like Ron Carter and Buster Williams. He has played with Jon Faddis, Joe Farnsworth, Pete Malinverni, and Gary Smulyan, among others. Currently, he tours internationally with Grammy-winning vocalist Samara Joy.

Christopher Latona – Drums

Christopher Latona, a drummer from Silver Spring, MD, began studying at Paul Carr’s Jazz Academy before earning dual degrees at Oberlin under NEA Jazz Master Billy Hart. As an Oberlin Sonny Rollins Scholar, he performed at SF Jazz in 2020 and toured widely. In 2019, he and his brother Andrew organized concerts at the U.S. Embassy to the Vatican to celebrate 35 years of U.S.–Vatican diplomatic relations.
