BFC brings back one of Shanghai’s most anticipated holiday sights, this time with a full Pokémon takeover and the world’s first 15.1-meter “151 Pokémon” Christmas tree. Lit by warm golden LEDs and wrapped with Pikachu, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and more, the giant tree shifts from soft sunset glow to a striking nighttime display that anchors this year’s holiday photo ops. Around the site, visitors can find a Pokémon pop-up packed with limited-edition merch, a Snorlax-themed ball pit in the B2 atrium, and scheduled Pokémon character appearances throughout December. The annual outdoor skating rink also returns, offering a Manhattan-style winter setup with immersive lighting, professional coaching, and special figure-skating performances. Weekends bring a rotation of Christmas markets, from classic holiday stalls and mulled wine to a Finland-themed market and pet-friendly events, followed later by the Dianping “Must-Eat Carnival.” With installations, markets, performances, and plenty of festival-ready photo spots, BFC turns the riverside into a full holiday playground for December.
